Manchester United: Average journey continues

Another new season, another new year where the fallen giants try to revive the good old days of glory. After a dismal 1-3 defeat to Crystal Palace on the opening day of the Premier League campaign, and a largely underwhelming performance against Brighton, where the Red Devils just narrowly scraped through to clinch the win with a 90+10th minute Bruno Fernandes penalty.  But why is this happening? Year after year, Man Utd just doesn't seem to rejuvenate. Here is our opinion of what is lacking in this Manchester United squad and how we feel some changes need to be made earnestly and tactfully.  1. SHAKY DEFENSE Man Utd just can't find the right back line to support the attackers. Yes, last year they conceded 18 fewer goals in the league than the season before, but the defense is far from solid.  Maguire was made captain, but he's no leader. Errors, confusion, and no inspiration.  Maguire centre back partners Lindelof and Bailey are poorly inconsistent, sometimes even not look

Barca: A new beginning?

After the disappointment of the previous seasons coupled with the Lionel Messi saga and the weird transfers, not many had thought Barcelona to cruise to an easy 4-0 win over Villareal.      Expectations are far less for every Culer this year around in what seems to be the final year of the legendary Leo Messi unless some miracle is on the cards. After the embarrassing night in LIsbon, Koeman has been keen to replace the players who carried the team in the glory years with young guns which saw the high profile exits of Suarez, Rakitic, Vidal and Semedo.       Ansu Fati alongwith Riqui Puig’s performances were the only highs of Barcelona last season with Fati impressing with Spain national team in his debut and scoring a beauty in only his second match for the country. While Puig is not on Koeman’s radar as he openly said he doesn’t count on the youngster despite such great performances last season, Fati continues to impress, chipping in with 2 goals and winning the third in the box wh

Liverpool VS Arsenal : Preview

Liverpool welcome Arsenal at Anfield on Monday Night in a game which promises to be a cracker. Both teams have had winning starts to the season, but for one, the run will end on Monday. Liverpool scraped a win against Leeds by 4 goals to 3 before comfortably beating Frank Lampard’s Chelsea with the help of a brace from Seneglese forward Sadio Mane. Arsenal, on the other hand, defeated Fulham 3-0 and then went on to beat West Ham 2-1.    Liverpool’s top scorers from last season, Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah have been on fire since the beginning of the season, getting 2 and 3 goals respectively. The defence looked worryingly penetrable against Leeds but against Chelsea, they didn’t even give a sniff at goal to Werner, Havertz and Mount. The signing of Thiago adds a completely different dimension to Liverpool. He is the only midfielder in the squad who can control the tempo of the game with his simple yet inch perfect passes. It would be interesting to see whether Klopp gives him a start
