That time of the year has finally arrived, when fans and pundits try to make a team of eleven players based on the performances of the season. Here is our attempt at making a Team Of The Year. Narrowing down to 11 players was a very tough job. So, there were some omissions, players who might have made headlines, but didn't get a place in our eleven. Mention your changes or your team in the comments.
GOALKEEPER
EDERSON MORAES (MANCHESTER CITY FC)
Ederson won the Golden Glove award for the most number of clean sheets(16) this season for 2nd placed Manchester City. Behind a leaky defence, he did very well to keep the opponents from scoring. He is good with the ball at his feet as well, which makes him integral to Pep Guardiola's style of play. Nick Pope of Burnley also deserves a shout for the goalkeeper position.
DEFENDERS
Right Back
TRENT ALEXANDER ARNOLD (LIVERPOOL FC)
The scouser in Liverpool's ranks is one of the best right-backs on current form. He has been brilliant going forward, providing inch perfect crosses to Liverpool's front three. He is also a deadly set-piece taker. His whipped in corners are almost inch perfect while his free-kicks often result in goals. Trent has been scrutinized for his defensive abilities on a few occasions, but he has done more than enough to guarantee a place in our TOTY. Manchester United's Aaron wan Bissaka and Wolves's Matt Doherty were also very solid in this position.
CENTER BACKS
VIRJIL VAN DIJK(LIVERPOOL FC) and JAMES TARKOWSKI (BURNLEY FC)
James Tarkowski has been one of the most underrated defenders this season. His performances for 10th position Burnley have gone unnoticed. He has, statistically, had a better season than Virgil Van Dijk, with more tackles, blocks, clearances and interceptions than the big Dutchman.
LEFT BACK
ANDREW ROBERTSON(LIVERPOOL FC)
He has been up and down the left flank whole season long. He brings a huge amount of tenacity and eagerness to join the attack on the overlap. His runs are just fantastic and he is quite adept defensively as well. He provides pinpoint crosses for Salah and Co. upfront. The Scottish international is an asset to Liverpool and is irreplaceable. Ben Chilwell could be another candidate for the left back spot.
MIDFIELDERS
KEVIN DE BRYUNE (MANCHESTER CITY FC)
Kevin De Bryune has been one of the best players in the league, if not the best. He can do whatever his team requires him to do. When his teammates are in better positions than him, he turns provider and when there is room to shoot, his venomous shots find the back of the net more often than not. With 13 goals and 20 assists to his name, his numbers are quite staggering. His selection is a no brainer.
JORDAN HENDERSON (LIVERPOOL FC)
Liverpool's inspirational captain Jordan Henderson won the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year award for his performances this season. He might not be the player who is the most soothing to the eye, but he has shown tremendous levels of determination, dedication and ridiculous work-rate. These traits made him undispensable to the title winning team which reached such great heights this season, and he, deserves his place in this team.
BRUNO FERNANDES (MANCHESTER UNITED FC)
Bruno has been Manchester United's saviour this season. Yeah, he was recruited just in January, but his impact was so huge that it pushed Man Utd into third place, securing Champions League football next season. In the 14 Premier League matches he played, he scored 8 goals and assisted 7 times. He won 2 Player of the Month awards in this short blistering spell. Bruno's performances have been pivotal for turning around Manchester United's season.
We considered Jack Grealish as well, who almost single handedly captained Aston Villa and helped them escape Relegation. He scored 8 goals and provided 6 assists in 36 matches. But Bruno put up those numbers in less than half the number of matches, hence, he got the nod ahead of Jack.

FORWARDS
RAUL JIMENEZ (WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS)
Mexican target-man Raul Jimenez has scored 17 goals and set up 6 in 38 matches for Wolves. He has carried Wolves throughout the season, being their main outlet for goals. He can score with both feet and his head, which makes him a lethal forward. He is very disciplined as well, having received just 3 yellow cards throughout the season.
JAMIE VARDY (LEICESTER CITY FC)
Let's face it, Jamie Vardy is the only reason Leicester were in the reckoning for the Champions League places till the last day of the season. He won the Golden Boot award for scoring the most goals this season, amassing 23 strikes in 35 appearances and providing 5 assists. He is one of the best strikers in the Premier League and his performances this season makes it easy for us to choose him. We could have gone with Danny Ings who had a similarly stunning campaign with Southampton, but Vardy gets the nod.
SADIO MANE (LIVERPOOL FC)
Senegalese winger Sadio Mane has been one of the most important players for Liverpool this season. He has scored 18 goals and provided 7 assists in the 35 appearances he made. He is quick, strong, good in the air, has a brilliant right foot and can bang in goals with his left as well. He is certainly one of the best players in the world right now. We could also have picked Liverpool's Mo Salah or Arsenal's Aubameyang, but we went with Sadio Mane.
