EUROPA LEAGUE FINAL 2020: PREVIEW

UEFA Europa League Final Live: Sevilla vs Inter Milan Head to Head ...

Cologne is set to witness the Europa League Final 2020 between five time winners Sevilla and Italian giants Inter Milan. Sevilla, being the most successful Europa League side, are the masters of Europe’s second tier competition. On the other hand, Inter Milan are no strangers to European finals. The nerazzurri are in a rebuilding phase under Antonio Conte who was hired to bring back the glory days to the San Siro and winning it would be their first European victory since a Diego Milito brace put Bayern Munchen under the sword in the 2010 Champions League Final in Madrid.

PLAYERS TO MISS OUT

INTER MILAN

Inter's Matias Vecino To Miss Up To 3 More Games Due To Injury

Inter will miss the services of their 28 year old Central Midfielder Matias Vecino, who is sidelined due to a knee injury.

SEVILLA

Sevilla, on the other hand, have a full strength squad to choose from for the showpiece event.

PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR

INTER MILAN

ROMELU LUKAKU

Manchester United debate over Romelu Lukaku transfer is unfair on ...

Having scored 6 goals and provided 2 assists, Lukaku has been the main man for Inter up front. He has everything an ideal centre forward should have. Strength, dominance in the air and lethal finishes are what make him an asset for Antonio Conte to have. The Belgian number nine has scored a goal every 59 minutes and hence has been quite consistent with his shooting boots.

LAUTARO MARTINEZ

Lautaro Martinez: “Concentrating on the final” | News

We could have gone for a defender but the Argentine is just too good to ignore. He has had 3 goal contributions in the 4 appearances he has made in the Europa League. Amidst links with Barcelona, he has kept performing at quite a good level throughout the season. The 22-year old will partner the big Belgian up front, which has turned out to be one of the deadliest duo’s in the Europa League.

SEVILLA

SERGIO REGUILON

Marina Granovskaia sent Sergio Reguilon message as Chelsea eye ...

The Real Madrid loanee has been a brilliant addition to this Sevilla side. The left back isn’t one who would set the world alight, but is very solid, both defensively and going forward. His defensive awareness will be needed in the all important finale if Sevilla are to keep the quite potent Inter Milan at bay.

LUCAS OCAMPOS

Brands masterclass: Everton must sign "exciting" £45m-rated ...

Lucas Ocampos has one of the revelation of the season in La Liga for Sevilla. Spearheading Lopetegui's attack, he is the team's joint top scorer and has been a relentless performer for them. He had scored the winner against Wolves and had looked good against Ole’s United. Sevilla’s attacks depend on his performances.

PREVIEW

This would be an evenly contested final. The two teams have very little to choose between them. Inter Milan have the better players while the men from Seville are more experienced in the Europa League. It would be a great final to watch.

VAR: Boon or Bane?

Ever since its introduction, VAR has sparked controversies all around the globe. While it was believed before its introduction that it would reduce the human errors and provide the referees a second chance to rectify their mistakes, it now has left us pondering whether technology intervention was required in the first place.      The good point is that no foul committed can possibly go unnoticed but the disadvantages are far more with the most disturbing being it stops the flow of the game every now and then and this doesn’t augur well for the beautiful game as the frequent stoppages are disturbing both for the players and the audiences. By this time, we already know there have been a record number of penalties awarded in this season’s Premier League and credit goes to VAR for awarding them without much hesitation. For the first time ever we saw a team score after the final whistle. Yes, you heard that right. Manchester United’ s game against Brighton was completed...

EL CLASICO : PREVIEW

As Camp Nou gets ready to host the first Clasico of the season, both clubs in their own rebuilding phase will look to get one over their arch rivals. Both clubs have had rather inconsistent starts to the season, by their lofty standards. With the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, this fixture has somewhat lost its glory but the political reasons behind the rivalry will continue to fuel this fixture.  FC Barcelona have come from a nightmare season, not winning any trophy and conceding 8 against Bayern Munich. With renewed hope, under Dutch boss Ronald Koeman, they have started pretty poorly in La Liga, winning two of their four matches. Although it is very early in the season, Barcelona are languishing at tenth in the table. With all the behind the scenes drama, they have coped pretty well. Lionel Messi will be their star man as usual. Coutinho has done well on his return to the club. Griezmann hasn’t yet found his feet in Catalonia. All eyes would be on Gerrard Pique, who got a red ca...

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: 2020-21

It's already been two months since that famous night in Lisbon where Bayern conquered their 2nd treble equalling the record of Barcelona in the process of highest number of trebles.         Now, the group stages has some mouth watering fixtures, the most notable being PSG v/s Man U. After that embarrassing night in Paris where the French outfit lost to a young Man U team even after having a healthy lead in the first leg, PSG have come a long way and were only second to Bayern Munich last time around. PSG have a strong team and their only main concern would be their defence after their long serving captain played his last match in the UCL final. Their forward and midfield line do not have much change and will look forward to carry on the form that they displayed last time around. On the other hand United have plenty of problems from their defence to attack. Their uninspiring captain Maguire has led them down more than once with the attackers struggling ...
