Real Madrid will enter the Etihad stadium hoping to defeat a Manchester City side which had defeated them 2-1 in the first leg held at the Bernabeu when a goal from Isco was cancelled out by Gabriel Jesus and then Kevin de Bryune scored a penalty to give Manchester City a one goal lead and two precious away goals. This has set up a blockbuster clash at the Etihad.
Players missing out -
Real Madrid
Real Madrid will be missing their captain Sergio Ramos for the second leg after he picked up a red card in the first leg. This would be a very big miss both in terms of quality and mentality of the team. He drives his team forward when he is on the pitch. We have seen how Real crumbled during his absence against Ajax. He will most likely be replaced by Eder Militao, who is a good defender but isn’t of the quality of Sergio Ramos.
Manchester City
Manchester City will miss the services of Sergio Aguero upfront as he is injured. Although he is a brilliant forward, Jesus has filled in quite well and this would not affect the tie much. The return of Aymeric Laporte is crucial for City.
Players to watch out for-
Manchester City -

Aymeric Laporte and Kyle Walker
Yeah, it’s two players together and not one. This is because other than these two, Manchester City don’t really have in-form defenders. Walker will be entrusted with keeping Eden Hazard quiet. Most Real attackers tend to drift left and hence Kyle Walker will have a very difficult time. Aymeric Laporte is their best centre back. He will be responsible for stopping Karim Benzema.

Kevin de Bryune
Kevin de Bryune is one of the best players in the world. He will be integral for City’s attacks. If City decides to sit back and defend then he will be the source of their counter attacks while if they play their normal style of football, then also de Bruyne is indispensable to Pep Guardiola. His form will be a worry for Real Madrid.
Real Madrid -

Raphael Varane
For any Real Madrid match preview, Raphael Varane won’t be among their two best and most influential players but due to the absence of Sergio Ramos, he will partner, most likely, an inexperienced Eder Militao, hence he will have to lead the defence. He has to take up the role of Sergio Ramos for this match.

Karim Benzema
Benzema has scored 21 goals in this season’s LaLiga and is Real’s main source of goals. He will have to be in top form as Real will need to score goals in this match. He will have to continue the form he has shown throughout the season for Real to stand a chance.
Preview -
Both Manchester City and Real Madrid are in good form coming into this fixture. They will look to advance. Zidane has never been knocked out at this stage of the competition while Manchester City have a good record at defending first leg leads. City have also conceded most shots from outside the box, in front of the two centrebacks and this will enable the likes of Kroos to try a few from far out. Hence, it would be a neck to neck tie. This tie is very much open.
