RB Leipzig VS Paris Saint Germain : Preview

RB Leipzig vs Paris Saint-Germain, Uefa Champions League semi ...

It’s only been 10 days since Champions League football resumed and here we are ready with the semi finalists of the 1st one, the French powerhouses Paris Saint Germain and the lively, invigorating Leipzig. On one hand, PSG after years of failure in the knockout stages finally qualify for the semi finals, that too had seemed uncertain until the last 3 minutes of their quarter finals against Atalanta turned it in their favour and on the other side Leipzig who were formed in 2009 are already on a roll in their first Champions League campaign. With an average age of just 24 years, they play an excited brand of football inspired by their young coach Julian Nagelsmann. PSG will not want to miss the golden opportunity to go through the finals for the first time a lot of which depends on the exploits of Neymar and Mbappe.

Players to miss out

RB Leipzig

Timo Werner, Ralph Hasenhuettl, Ibrahima Konate - Timo Werner and ...

Ibrahima Konate is the only player missing out for the Germans through injury. Their top goalscorer, Timo Werner seems to be a thing of the past as they have quickly adapted after his departure for Chelsea.

PSG

Navas appreciation post. : psg

Keylor Navas is set to miss out this crucial tie with a muscular issue along with Marco Verratti.Idrissa Gueye’s participation is also in doubt after picking up a niggle in the last match. Angel Di Maria is set to return from suspension after missing out on the last game.

Players to watch out for

RB Leipzig

Dayot Upamecano

Dayot Upamecano: Why Arsenal and Tottenham will both be full of ...

After a match winning performance against Atletico Madrid, he has grabbed more and more eyeballs with his pinpoint passes, clean tackling, defending and once again Leipzig will need him more than ever to tackle the likes of Neymar, Mbappe, Icardi and Di Maria.

Marcel Sabitzer

RB Leipzig 3-0 Tottenham (4-0 Agg): Marcel Sabitzer Seals Last ...

Sabitzer has time and again proven his worth to the team by coming in with goals and perfect assists and was instrumental in the tie against Atletico wherein his perfectly measured cross converted by Dani Olmo gave the lead. He once again has to be at his usual best against the attacking PSG.

PSG

Neymar

Overrated' Neymar wouldn't get in Liverpool or Man United's front ...

Neymar is a no brainer to be included in this list. After missing out on the knockout stages of previous campaigns, he was indispensable to this PSG team who secured qualification thanks to Neymar goals in either ties of round of 16 and a match winning performance against Atletico. Yes, his finishing was not at all upto the mark but a player of his calibre can turn things around in no time.

Kylian Mbappe

Mbappe mocks 'Farmers League' criticism after Lyon beat Man City ...

The partner in mischief of Neymar proved in the last clash just proved how much was he needed to shift a clash in favour of Parisians when they were trailing. The energy and the lightning speed that he brings to the table is a headache for the defenders.

As has been the case for most of the quarter finals tie, it can go either way with no clear favourites. It remains to be seen who seize their chances on the day. Julian Nagelsmann’s boys will try to take advantage of the inexperienced Sergio Rico who has just played 9 games all season and  replaces the injured Keylor Navas with Upamecano handed the big task of keeping PSG’s strikers at bay while PSG will be desperate to be efficient in front of the goal.

Chelsea VS Liverpool: Preview

Chelsea and Liverpool will lock horns on Sunday in Matchday 2 of the Premier League. The last time these teams met was not very long ago when Liverpool lifted the Premier League title at Anfield winning by 5 goals to 3 in an end to end thriller.      With the summer signings, Chelsea have improved greatly. Their only worry lies with Kepa Arrizabalaga, their shot-stopper who has been error prone. Even against Brighton, where Chelsea had a good game, Kepa let in a goal, which seemed to have been a simple save. If Thiago Silva starts then it would bolster their defence against a lethal Liverpool frontline. A cut-short pre-season means that team chemistry wouldn’t be the best. Timo Werner looks very dangerous and would be a menace for Liverpool’s defence. Ziyech is ruled out for the clash against the reds while Pulisic is in doubt. Ben Chillwell might as well make his first appearance of the season against Liverpool. Reece James will look to have another solid game at right b...

Barcelona V/S Napoli : Preview

With the dishonour of going trophyless for the first time since 2007-08 looming large, winning the UCL after 5 years will easily rub off the pain of not winning the La liga and their below par performances during the later stages of the competition, over the years. Having said that, the task on hand is no piece of cake as they face a stubborn Napoli side, inspired by Gennaro Gattuso who can outrival any side on their day. Their strike force is deadly to say the least. Insigne, Mertens, Lozano, Milik, Callejon, Politano can wreck havoc across defences, more so when Barca has a very poor record defensively of late. Napoli  had the most possession(59%) and the most passes in the Serie A, were the Coppa Italia champions and they were the unbeaten team in their group despite being on the same pool with defending champions, Liverpool.  Players missing out- FC Barcelona Missing out influential midfielder, Sergio Busquets and Arturo Vidal through suspension will be a cause of headach...

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: 2020-21

It's already been two months since that famous night in Lisbon where Bayern conquered their 2nd treble equalling the record of Barcelona in the process of highest number of trebles.         Now, the group stages has some mouth watering fixtures, the most notable being PSG v/s Man U. After that embarrassing night in Paris where the French outfit lost to a young Man U team even after having a healthy lead in the first leg, PSG have come a long way and were only second to Bayern Munich last time around. PSG have a strong team and their only main concern would be their defence after their long serving captain played his last match in the UCL final. Their forward and midfield line do not have much change and will look forward to carry on the form that they displayed last time around. On the other hand United have plenty of problems from their defence to attack. Their uninspiring captain Maguire has led them down more than once with the attackers struggling ...
