Manchester United and Transfers

Come transfer window, and you will find Manchester United always find them busy in the market and come second only to its Manchester rivals in the Premier League in terms of net money spent during the last five years. Except David De Gea, players have moved in and out very often and this may have been a major cause for their inconsistent performances throughout. With Man U, you can never be sure of the outcome. On their day, they can give a tough competition to City and Liverpool and on their very next match they can lose to a bottom ranked side. Yes, the performances have been promising during the later part of the season last time around, a major chunk of credit which must go to the Portugese midfielder, Bruno Fernandes. Ever since he has arrived, United have grown in confidence and became consistent. As of Donny Van de Beek is the only new signing for the Red Devils and the combination of Pogba, Bruno and Donny looks delicious. What remains to be seen is how Solskjaer can take out the best of the Dutch international. 


The Sancho saga never seems to end and the Red Devils are too desperate to have his signature and it would be great for United if he finally ends up there. Greenwood has impressed throughout the previous campaign and will look forward with confidence in the next one along with Martial and Bruno. Maguire hasn’t done justice to the price tag while on the other hand Aaron Wan Bissaka impressed straightaway.  Now that they have qualified for the Champions League, their realistic ambitions should be to finish inside the top four. Liverpool and City lately have become the only consistent sides in the League while much is expected from Chelsea this season and Lampard knows he has a task cut out with big  spending on Havertz, Werner and Ziyech. We can never count out Mourinho, especially after such a great revival of his team after being given the managerial job when Spurs were languishing at 14th place which ultimately saw them finish at 6th place. Let’s see if United can give their loyal fans something to celebrate after a long long time.

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: 2020-21

It's already been two months since that famous night in Lisbon where Bayern conquered their 2nd treble equalling the record of Barcelona in the process of highest number of trebles.         Now, the group stages has some mouth watering fixtures, the most notable being PSG v/s Man U. After that embarrassing night in Paris where the French outfit lost to a young Man U team even after having a healthy lead in the first leg, PSG have come a long way and were only second to Bayern Munich last time around.
