Messi Stays!

 

Messi Stays at Barcelona for atleast another season. Great news Barca fans, isn’t it. We can agree that Messi is the least of Barcelona’s problems. Taking all those goals and assists from this Barcelona team will arguably make Barcelona a mid table club, if they keep performing the way they have been. 


Retaining Messi is a big job done. Now the biggest question is whether he will be motivated enough to perform at the level he has been for ages now. Messi has said that he didn’t want to take the club which made him to court and hence he is staying. In all probability, if the global pandemic didn’t happen and matches continued as stated with the results being the same, Messi would have left in July for free. 



Now Barcelona have to help themselves by strengthening their squad in a few areas. With the kind of youth coming through, the attack and midfield is sorted. The main problem is their defence. They, arguably, need a whole new back four. A backup to Jordi Alba, someone to replace Pique, a competent enough Centre Back who can fight for the other Centre back position with Lenglet and a rightback. 


They just have to sign players. Its high time now. Barcelona need a plan and for that they need to buy players.

It's already been two months since that famous night in Lisbon where Bayern conquered their 2nd treble equalling the record of Barcelona in the process of highest number of trebles.         Now, the group stages has some mouth watering fixtures, the most notable being PSG v/s Man U. After that embarrassing night in Paris where the French outfit lost to a young Man U team even after having a healthy lead in the first leg, PSG have come a long way and were only second to Bayern Munich last time around.
