Leeds United have finally played their first Premier League game after a while and they have won our hearts to say the least. The bravery Leeds showed was very encouraging. Marcelo Bielsa attacked Liverpool with Kalvin Phillips spraying long balls to Jack Harrison and Helder Costa who then pounced on them. They got 3 shots on target and all of them went in. If it wasn’t for a foul on Fabinho by Rodrigo inside the box, then the Yorkshire side may well have walked away with a point from Anfield.
Many of us thought that Leed’s would falter while playing out from the back and in the beginning they did but then as the game went on, they got better. Their defence needs more solidity though. Leaking goals could be a problem for Leeds in the long run. Liverpool didn’t dominate the game and that says a lot about Leeds’s performance. They actually had more possession and more passess completed. Klopp’s Liverpool, since losing the 2018 Champions League Final, have found out ways to grind out results and they have done the same here.
